Radiate a Success Image
'We act the way we dress. Neglected and untidy clothes reflect a neglected and untidy mind.' – Anonymous
It costs very little to look clean and neat. Dressing to project importance relays the message to others that you are important, successful and deserving of respect and one can easily achieve this preferential treatment.
How you look at yourself on the outside will convey this message to your inside and exhibit itself in your behavior. What message do you want to be sending to the general public and other professionals of the business world?
Take a few moments and watch the crowd around you and see if you can watch people that are given respect and those that are ignored. Look carefully at their body language, clothing and behaviors and note your own personal reactions and evaluation.
Dressing poorly can influence the quality of your work and relations with your clients and over all business image. Imposing a dress code upon yourself will take practice and you will have to decide what is appropriate for your own business.
The best method to decide upon choosing a style of a dress code is to take a look at a similar business and the dress code practised by the staff and managers and again, note your own personal reactions and evaluations. Don't be afraid to be seen writing your observations in a note pad. Just smile.
The ability to practice dressing and grooming appropriately will help home business owners maintain a more professional approach to their business and clients. Your clothes are your image, check the mirror and see what others see.
'Sometimes one creates a dynamic impression by saying something, and sometimes one creates as significant an impression by remaining silent.' –Dalai Lama
The best tip is to dress on the side of conservatism. It is better to be overdressed than underdressed. Clothing that exudes elegance and taste will send the message of somebody important and quietly command respect from others around you.

Good advice Dame Scribe, it's amazing how differently people treat you depending on how you dress.
nice
Dame Scribe, You have passed a very important message here. A great man once said, "dress the way you want to be addressed" – that is the bottom-line.
Many thanks for this very useful hub.
I would love to teach a community class on how to use an iron. Seriously!Too many nice shirts and slacks that are sad looking.
You said "Clothing that exudes elegance and taste will send the message of somebody important and quietly command respect from others around you."
The truth is powerful. Nice Hub
Very good advice. I know a group of gentlemen (brothers) who own their own business. They all dress in suits and ties everyday. Not because they have to, but because they want to be respected. And they are. This was actually one of my New Years' resolutions this year. The way I worded it was "To project the me I want others to see". It's just a reminder that if I want others to see me as successful, intelligent, or attractive, then I need to do my part to project that.

Hi Wrenfrost, I agree how people react to others based partly on just clothes. Thanks for visiting and sharing your comments. :)
