Societies have governments in place who control critical resources and are able to dictate the way social life is ordered. Such command over key organizations and institutions is to command people including their national defense.

Nations strive to maintain peace and look to provide their defenses with quality tools to provide personal safety for both the soldier, War dogs, community and nation.

Contracts and tenders are offered, bid and proposed to various research and development centers, businesses and individuals, to provide technological tools to improve national defense and maintain our national safety. As we are nations with advanced technology, education and knowledge so are the tools that are being developed.

Aside from the usual assortment of weapons that are available for the military like the small arms, assault rifles, sniper rifles, grenades, missiles, mortars, scopes, radios and uniforms, there are other weapons that are technological that are military specific for further protection and detection purposes.

The military also use tools like satellites, radar, thermal imaging, robots, UAV’s (unmanned aerial vehicles), GPS, night vision, digital communications, remote controlled vehicles and more precise sensor systems.

Science and technology are popular areas of interest as proven with the various television shows available, their respective web sites, and blogs found all over the net on the various topics and these shows are made available for the younger audience to encourage, educate and inform about the latest gadgets and science field.

Each day there is a new discovery by teams of researchers, engineers and scientists, from around the world, who conduct the further development, investigation and innovative methods to improve and introduce new tools using the strict rules of an applied science or art for more practical military and civilian uses.

Technology itself is defined as applying scientific knowledge applied to practical uses and provides society with things needed to sustain life or improve comfort.
