Costly Fee Tactics
Every month we find bills from our utilities, car, home and luxury services that must get paid and leaves our bank accounts, a tad on the skimpy side. Are you aware of the charges and fee’s you pay?
A business operates to generate monies to pay for it’s business loan, staff, products, shipping, advertising, make a profit, etc. In addition to your monthly bill, have you noticed the other user fee’s that are added that serves to inflate the monies owing to them?

A few places to observe additional fee’s can be found in everyday services that we may use, such as the following;
– Gratuity fee’s, major hotels add this to the final bill upwards of 15% .
– Cell phones, add 30% to advertised prices to include surcharges and fee’s for cancellation, switching carriers, and/or activation.
– Disposal fee’s, municipalities and cities are charging to gain access to garbage and refuse sites.
– Placing Orders, fee’s can accrue when placing travel orders online.
– Statements, invoices or communications mailed to you will have fee’s.
– Cable T.V., additional costs or *network fee* for using their digital services.
– National Parks, may require pay entry or parking fee.
– Buy Now, Pay Later, administration fee’s upwards of $100.00 may be required before leaving the store.
– Delivery, additional fee’s to pay for delivery to your home.
Bank fee’s are unavoidable for many people with their assorted services in mortgage, atm, personal and business loans, etc. Yet, some of these very banks, somehow managed, to get into financial troubles with a few lucky to get bailed out too. We know that fee’s are used to support or offset costs of government run programs and services but should they be used to inflate prices for business services?
I thought it was our tax dollars that allowed for operation of some business programs and services, (some are granted government subsidies) and here we are forking out yet more monies. Just what is going on with our money system? how much is enough? these are questions we should ask of our selves, with each other and wonder what the future will hold for our children, if this trend continues.
I am sure that the People could come up with a few ideas of their own to resolve this issue but would necessitate having to confront our leaders. Democracy refers to the powers of a government obtained by consent of the governed. Maybe, some sort of reform movement is necessary to make changes to the existing values running amok. What are your thoughts on changing today’s values for a better tomorrow? erosion of customer services? forking out more monies?

Fees and Taxes!!
The latest is Obama will finance Obamacare through existing IRA'S by forcing
banks and institutions to buy Govt' bonds with a persons money instead of
the bank using it.
Another is 50% tax on bonuses on these high paid CEO'S at banks. He hopes
to raise a Trillion Dollars this way.
Our heat bill went from $98 last month to $248 this month. Gasoline is at
$2.72/gal.
It looks like the White House would wake up and see that we no longer have
an industrial base that provides jobs. Tax people that have no jobs. This is
real change.
the monopolies like the power company and other utility providers and the gasoline providers all know that they have us at the end of their proverbial barrels( at their mercy). Even the food suppliers are getting us real good. Here in America, the country was founded, taken over by force from the Indians on the principles of no taxation without representation and look at it now. Tax, Tax and more tax on top of tax.The greedy capitalist has devised new ways to rob the poor, and the computer age has made it even easier for the intelectual intellegent ones to amass wealth from the average people. Fleecing is putting things mildly I think. Plain ol robbery. Capitalist fueled Anarchy is what I call it.
I agree with Ralph's comment above - these companies try to hide their robbery in the form of fees which seem small but add up to a lot! In South Africa the banks charge what are apparently the highest bank fees in the world, and yet we still get poor service from them!

BILLS and BILLS and BILLS hehe, non stop, all we need to think about is how can we handle it? and I think in the near future not certain when but there will be consumer revolution of some sort, Thanks Dame, Maita
There should be a new saying - "nothing is certain in life except death, taxes and bills!" There are a lot of add-ons on our bills. Here we have the 'currency adjustment', so called because the adjustment in the exchange rate between the dollar and the peso is also passed on to us. When the peso was greatly devalued, it crippled a lot of us normal, every day consumers. *sigh* don't mind me dame scribe, I'm just ranting. LOL. Great hub by the way :D.
Great information. Steal a little bit from a lot of people and it adds up to real money!
These bills are just a nightmare and they have the power and hold you to ransom.
It just never stops. Even worse, as we all become 'green conscious' and cut back - well the cost of everything goes up to compensate for the company's loss. Thus is the life of the consumer no doubt - we are meant to be dependent, and then gouged.
Thanks for the hub!
Dame Scribe, My biggest pet peeve in this area lies with our phone company, ATT who used to have a 15 page document they called a bill. I don't think anyone can explain all of those charges some of which I feel are duplicated. I know times have changed but when I first got married we paid $7 and change per month for a private line. Now I pay over $16 per month just to have a line to my home.
